Wheat...West coast white wheat bids held mostly steady through the week
against generally weaker Chicago futures, with nearby basis stretching above
the 100 over mark. Hard red winter and dark northern spring drifted 10 to
20 cents lower. Bid structures show carries posted into new crop months for
all three classes of wheat.
Weekly Sales...USDA revealed the seasonal "roll" of old crop to new crop
sales is underway, with 5.3 million bushels in old crop wheat cancellations
and a 13.6 million bushel increase in new crop sales. New crop commitments
now stand at 66.9 million bushels, which is running 28% behind a year ago.
Hard red winter sales for the 2025/26 marketing year stand at 20.6 million
bushels compared to 18.8 a year ago, hard red spring commitments are at 22
million compared to 47 million bushels a year ago and white wheat new crop
sales are about a third of last year at 9.8 million bushels.
