NEGOTIATED PURCHASES SUMMARIES BELOW
DTN COMMENTS: Formula totals for last week were mixed, higher in Nebraska,
and Texas, but lower in Kansas KS 50,524(-17,229), NE 61,103(+8,328), TX
75,060 (+20,338). Total trade volume totals were also mixed, higher in
Nebraska and Texas but lower in Kansas: KS 55,790(-18,959), NE
84,130(+8,646), TX 76,661(+17,206). New showlists appear to be mixed, higher
in Kansas, but lower in Texas, and Nebraska/Colorado. Bids and asking prices
have yet to be established, and significant trade volume will likely be
delayed until the second half of the week.
Beef cutouts are higher at midday (Choice 401.89 +1.85, Select 378.59 +0.15),
with light box movement (30.74 lds of choice cuts, 4.63 lds of select cuts,
0.00 lds of trim, and 5.76 lds of ground). Cattle futures at midday are
sharply to significantly higher on both live and feeder cattle contracts.
