======================================================================
Compared to the last report, demand was moderate this trading session
on light to moderate supplies.
Producers report water districts might limit water as drought conditions
worsen in some parts of Oregon, which could keep them from irrigating
later in the summer.
While some producers have access to well water many hope spring rains
will help keep irrigation districts open later in the season to help
keep production costs in check.
Some producers are selling out of hay as producers try to empty their
barns to make room for new crop.
Hay is starting to get cut all over Oregon, Eastern Oregon is baled and
stored and are getting ready for 2nd crop.
Others areas around Oregon are just starting to cut now and a few have
started baling.
Movement is slow due to old crop being almost sold out and new crop not
in the bale yet, producers say demand seems to be high already for
new crop as buyers are going around making offers.
Producers say the hay looks good even though they have had some mornings
with frost.
According to the U.S.
Drought Monitor, 86% of the state is in a moderate drought or worse,
44% of the state is in a Severe drought or worse, 9% of the state is in
an extreme drought.
