This past week, demand was light, and prices were steady.
Trade remains slow to moderate.
More rain this week continued to make it difficult for producers to
get into their fields, with some having crops taken out by hail.
There continues to be a lot of forage available, from this year and last,
and producers are wanting to get rid of inventory.
According to the U.S.
Drought Monitor for the week of September 4th, in the High Plains region,
improvements were made, namely in northern Kansas, and southern Nebraska,
where some isolated shower activity during the past week continued
to help chip away at the longer-term precipitation deficits.
In Kansas, the categorical percent area of abnormally dry conditions
(D0) increased to over 18%, Moderate drought (D1) decreased to almost
2%, and no severe (D2), extreme (D3) or exceptional drought (D4) was r.
